![]() ![]() Powerful breast muscles are required for an active flight, and in birds these muscles are attached to a modified version of the sternum, called a keel. They have the same joints, so you can simulate a movement of a wing by moving your arms. The similarities between them are very important to understand, because a wing is nothing else but a specialized arm with feathers sticking from it.
